Hotel Building Edelfelt – History and Elegance
Welcome to the enchanting and romantic Edelfelt building, designed according to the vision of the famous architect Edelfelt. This stone building, constructed in the 1800s and known as "Edelfelt," harbors a rich history and an elegant atmosphere. Originally used as a servants' residence, the building has now been transformed into a hotel, offering nine cozy rooms that provide an authentic manor house ambiance and the opportunity to step back in time. The second oldest building in the area exudes charm and unique history.
Upstairs: three twin rooms and one single room. Downstairs: four twin rooms and one single room. Additionally: on the manor side, there are two separate single rooms with their own entrance from the side door.
Each room is a unique experience, with its décor telling a story and creating a charming atmosphere. Some of the rooms offer magnificent views of the Mustion Linna's captivating park, providing peace and beauty all year round. The rooms are equipped with a private shower and toilet. Please note that the building does not have an elevator – the entrance is accessed via stairs at the front door. Wi-Fi is not available in the building, but a free guest network is accessible in the restaurant and meeting rooms. The rooms do not have a refrigerator, air conditioning, or minibar. A junior mattress fits in most rooms, including those without an extra bed. Sounds from the stairs, nearby rooms, the driveway, and the park may be heard – part of the living atmosphere of the building.
Big Cottage – In the heart of the enchanting manor park
Big Cottage is a carefully restored 19th-century building offering charming hotel rooms in a historic setting. The carefully renovated space combines the atmosphere of bygone times with modern comforts, creating a unique experience for its guests.
The red Big Cottage is the largest hotel building in the area, with a total of 14 rooms. The ground floor has four twin rooms, and the upper floor has six rooms, two of which are single rooms. Both floors have shared common areas.
On the left side, with its own entrance, there are four twin rooms offering extra privacy. Most rooms can accommodate an extra bed or junior mattress. Each room is individual and equipped with its own shower and toilet. Rooms do not have a refrigerator, air conditioning, or minibar, and there is no elevator in the building. Wi-Fi is not available, but a free guest network is provided in the restaurant and meeting rooms.
This cozy cottage was once home to two employees and their families – a place filled with laughter, warmth, and community.
Today, it has been carefully converted into four cozy hotel rooms, designed for guests who appreciate the traditional atmosphere and homely feel of a cottage. For those seeking romance and warmth, two rooms feature a charming fireplace.
Each room has its own toilet and shower. Rooms do not have a refrigerator, air conditioning, or minibar. Wi-Fi is not available.The main entrance is accessed via stairs without a railing, and each room has a high threshold.
The Shingle House is a building dating back to the 1800th century and has gotten its name from the traditionally panelled walls.
In this lovely red building there are nine individually and stylishly decorated rooms on the first floor. There are three separate entrances to the building.
Rooms offer views either of the forest at the back of the building or the front yard and parking area. Each room is unique. Some rooms welcome pets. All rooms have their own shower and toilet. Rooms do not have a refrigerator, air conditioning, or minibar. There is no Wi-Fi in the hotel rooms, but free guest access is available in the restaurant and meeting rooms.
Merlin's Suite – A magical retreat
The two-story Merlin's Tower suite is located right by the Mustionjoki river. A terrace partially over the river invites you to enjoy the sun, beautiful scenery and a peaceful moment with a book. Welcome to Merlin's Tower - where magic meets nature.
Enjoy a unique stay in the historic and charming Merlin's Tower, a former transformer building converted into a luxurious two-story suite. This idyllic suite is perfect for those seeking a romantic escape or a tranquil break from the daily hustle. The building was named Merlin's Tower when the late owner, Magnus Linder IV, remarked that the area needed a bit of "magic."
This charming three-room apartment is located in the historic Stenvilla, a two-story stone building from the 19th century on Mustion ruukinkatu. Surrounded by old oak trees, the villa is nestled right by the Mustionjoki river and dam, offering a peaceful natural setting. Originally, this building housed workers from the Mustio ironworks, Finland’s first ironworks founded in 1561. The area still features historic buildings such as old workers’ cottages, a blacksmith’s house and a locomotive shed.
The apartment is approximately 93 m², with an entrance at the rear on the right side of the building. The living room and both bedrooms offer beautiful views of the river. The first bedroom has a double bed while the second has two 80 cm wide single beds. The living room includes a sofa bed, which can be made into an extra bed for two guests at an additional cost.
The apartment has a separate kitchen and bathroom as well as a spacious hallway with a desk—ideal for remote work. A fireplace adds to the cozy atmosphere. The building does not have air conditioning.
This apartment is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility, as there are stairs at the entrance and no assistive devices. An extra bed or a crib can be arranged for an additional fee. Pets are welcome.

Downstream by the rapids, right by the water, lies the River Cottage, a charming cabin with a stunning view of the rushing currents. This traditional two-story cabin offers both tranquility and space, making it ideal for nature lovers and small celebration groups, such as bachelor or bachelorette parties.
A rowboat is freely available for guests. The sauna includes a shower and a composting toilet, with an additional traditional outhouse in the yard. There is no TV or WLAN, and the cabin is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
A buffet breakfast at restaurant Linnankrouvi is included in the stay. The small kitchenette allows for preparing simple meals. Final cleaning is included in the price, while additional cleaning and linen changes can be arranged upon request.
The cabin is close to the hotel buildings Small Cottage and Shingle House, with free parking available in their lots. Mustio Manor’s guest harbor is 400 m away, but the rowboat can only be used on Mustio River. The surrounding area offers beautiful jogging and cycling routes all the way to Mustio village (shop 3.5 km). Bicycles can be rented from Mustio Manor’s reception.
